When you think of Parnis watches, no doubt you would mainly think of the masses of homage watches they produce. Their watches are usually well priced (as in -120) and surprisingly good quality for what you pay. However, Parnis is not a real brand – they are a “mushroom brand”. The IWC Ingenieur features a water resistance rating of 120 meters, compared to the 50 meter rating of the AP Royal Oak. The crown on the IWC boasts protection, unlike the exposed crown of the AP. The Ingenieur is presented with a black dial and color matched date window at the 3 o’clock position. This Parnis is a 46mm case pilot chronograph modeled after the IWC Top Gun Miramar. The watch has a Miyota movement and cost me about 0 shipped (probably not the best deal). A few details about the watch and features: Movement: Japanese Miyota quartz movement with functional chrongraph. An homage is any watch as long as it doesn't actually pretend to be the real one with brand names and all (i.e., counterfeit). The Parnis on the dial makes this an homage. The point is to get as close as you can without the sleaze of counterfeiting and fakery.I have been pleasantly surprised by this affordable Automatic Watch. I’m quite impressed with Parnis. During lockdown I bought one of the IWC ‘homage’ watches so I could try the sizing while dealers were closed. It was much better quality than I expected for a cheap watch.
